Summer's End

A vermilion sun; fizzles out to dusty sky.
Hissing across the face of a black demon, and leaving traces of fire on withering leaves.
A romance is ending
A funeral is beginning
I'm walking out of summers end like an animated corpse.

A blood moon rises over the chard remains of a blistered forest.
High temperatures give way to the cooler breath of November;
a canyon lake crystallizes
freezing all your emotions
I'm walking out of summer's end like a broken stallion.

Dull embers dripping from your wasted eyes.
Liquid mercury for your tears;
breathing begins
breathing ceases
I'm walking out of summer's end.
